Lotus Flower has captured the heart of many of our farm visitors with her beautiful face and inquisitive nature. We purchased her because of her extremely fine fleece and lovely shade of rose grey. She blended right into our herd with her friendly personality and keeps us smiling with her curious antics.

Lotus is a nice blend of a light silver grey sire and a light brown dam. She is sired by The Silver Griffin who has placed in every show entered, and consistently placed first or second. In 2007, time and again Griffin placed 2nd behind Mile High Deacon Grey who was awarded color champion at the national show! Griffin has superior fine fleece characteristics which Lotus has inherited.

Lotus has just given us another daughter and Primrose is just as stunning as her first cria, Lavender!! SURPRISE, a light silver grey female out of Silver Bullet. That lovely soft shade of grey is coming from Primrose's grand-sire, "The Silver Griffin"! Lotus and both of her daughters have Griffin's exquisitely soft fleece as well. (See Griffin's histogram stats below!!)

Fiber stats for The Silver Griffin:

2010 - 20.9, SD 5.5, CV 26.3, %>30u 5.9 - 5 years old .... can you see the pattern? :)

Lotus' dam, Annapurna CTA is daughter to Venlo, a true black from 2 grey parents. Lotus has a nice pedigree behind her boasting the esteemed Accoyo Pluro and his son, Accoyo Pluro Ross on her sires side, as well as the famous Bolivian Black Thunder, one of the highest quality black huacayas imported from Bolivia and great-grand-sire - one of the most famous grey males imported from Bolivia, Legacy de Bolivia!

Lotus has done rather well in the ring too. She was awarded 3rd place in fleece at the 2010 Alpaca Western Extravaganza and received high marks in most areas (see her score under fiber stats). She also took first place at the 2009 Alpacapalooza show in full fleece and went on to take Reserve Champion out of 31 animals under Judge Ruth Elvestad.

Lotus has been exposed to Peruvian Spotted Clown (Harlequin) for a spring 2018 cria!! She has been confirmed via ultra sound!!! We expect they will criate another masterpiece! Lotus is a super mom and delivers large 21 pound babies and mom has no problem birthing or keeping up with milk supply. Watch for the new cria's picture on this site.

Notable bloodlines: The Silver Griffin, Venlo, Accoyo Pluro, Accoyo Pluro Ross, Bolivian Black Thunder, Legacy de Bolivia
