The Wild Rose Suri Ranch, established in 1995, is a mid-size breeding operation of 100 Peruvian suri alpacas specializing in the production of exceptional Peruvian bloodlines specifically selected for superb suri fiber characteristics, outstanding production traits, easy-going dispositions, and sound conformation. Our farm consists of 18 acres, with about 14 acres devoted to alpacas. We sit high atop beautiful rolling hills near the Susquehanna River at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. The beauty and serenity is breathtaking. Alan is a Mechanical Engineer and has worked in the Aerospace industry in design and sales since graduating from college. He is currently a Regional Sales Manager for Kollmorgen, a division of Danaher Corp. We both have held positions on the Board of Directors for the Mid-Atlantic Alpaca Association (MAPACA,) as well as held key positions in the management and planning of the MAPACA Jubilee, the largest alpaca show in the world, with over 1700 alpacas at its peak. Patti is the Past President of the Maryland Alpaca Breeders Association (MABA), Past Vice President of MAPACA, and a past member of the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA) Show Committee. Patti is now works full-time on the farm after spending 25 years in the Chemical Industry as a Business Director, Supply Chain Director and Quality Manager.
We purchased our first two maiden full Peruvian suris in 1995, Duchess and Gypsy Moon. We were so excited about the industry, that we purchased another 6 females from the 4th Peruvian import in 1996, and many of those females are still producing quality crias while residing on the farm today. Accoyo Lucma delivered her 2009 cria at the age of 17! Topacio, another import who is now 16 delivered her 10th girl in a row in 2009. Alan and Patti are joined by Patti's mom, Marie Brown (shown in photo with granddaughter Kayla and "Lena"), who owns New Horizons Suri Alpacas (NHSA) and both resides and works on our ranch. Marie owns a herd of 15 Peruvian suris, and both farms have won multiple championships in halter and fleece at the country's largest shows.
We have a variety of colors of pure Peruvian Suris on the farm: white, light fawn, dark fawn, maroon, black, grey, and dark brown. We produce "fancies" or multi-colored and patterned animals from our breeding program. We have invested in several top foundation bloodlines including Bruxo (full Accoyo), Silver King (grey), Macgyver (maroon) and Rufino (white). We are proud to offer and outstanding lineup of herd sires bred on our farm who have won multiple championships for us and our customers, including colored full Accoyo males in beige, medium fawn, light fawn, and white. The Wild Rose Suri Ranch is known for its high quality production of extremely high luster white and fawn suris with Accoyo bloodlines. We also offer full Accoyo breeding stock from Bruxo, Baccarat, Uribe, and Ace bloodlines, producing fawns, beiges, multis and whites. We have branched out into maroons and grey, and offer a variety of herd sires and foundation females to meet your color needs. Our animals are specifically selected for their high luster and other key fiber characteristics, production, easy-going dispositions, and conformation. Our alpacas are well-socialized and easy to handle - we spend more time with each one of them in an effort to socialize them to potential new owners. New Suri Alpaca Breeders and investors appreciate the advantage of being able to have fun with their new alpacas while safely handling them.
